About us
FRENETK is rooted in the idea that creatives are not required to behave. Most galleries work with artists who develop a recognizable style, build a cohesive body of work, and fit snugly into the program. But artists change. They experiment, obsess, abandon things, start over, switch mediums, and sometimes contradict everything they were doing several months prior.
FRENETK celebrates that freedom.
Perfectionism, self-doubt, and the relentless inner critic can leave extraordinary work unfinished, hidden, or abandoned altogether. FRENETK believes uncertainty, failure, reinvention, and even creative chaos are not weaknesses in the process. They are the process.
FRENETK Gallery backs artists willing to take bold risks, smash boundaries, change direction, and follow an idea wherever it leads. We are not beholden to one medium, movement, aesthetic, or traditional gallery program. The common thread is a commitment to following creative instinct without compromise.
That disruption extends beyond what hangs on walls. At FRENETK, 13 is the magic number. The humans behind the Gallery also operate The 13, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around the belief that art can create impact beyond itself. Artists should be free to push beyond conventional boundaries. We think the value created by art should do the same. From every original artwork sold, 74% goes directly to the artist, 13% supports The 13, and 13% remains for Gallery operations. The 13 supports 13 charitable organizations addressing the environments that shape human life—including Doctors Without Borders, World Central Kitchen, Charity: Water, Homeboy Industries, and others.
FRENETK is not a conventional gallery. We don’t put on airs. We embrace creative chaos, support causes we believe in, and challenge a few rules along the way. Art should evolve. Artists should be free. And galleries should have the courage to evolve with them.
